Searching Within Chapter Structure

You can recursively search for items under a selected chapter.

Required access roles:

Baseline: Author

  1. To search within the structure of a selected chapter, click Search Within .
    The Catalog Filter dialog box appears. All items under the selected chapter appears.
  2. To activate recursive keyword display, click .
    The mode changes to Recursive mode. All keywords recursively inherited by a chapter or item are available in the keyword selection list accordingly.
  3. To activate direct keyword display, click .
    The mode changes to Direct mode. Only keywords directly in a chapter are available in the keyword selection list.
  4. To filter the objects list, see steps 2 through 8 in Filtering a Catalog in the Catalog Browser.
  5. To use an item, right-click it and select Use Item.
  6. To save the filter, click Save Query .
    The Save Query dialog box appears, in which you should:
    • type a name in the box and
    • click OK to save
  7. To load a previously-saved filter, click Open Query .
    A message appears.
  8. To select a filter, you can do one of the following.
    • From the tabs, select a filters or documents attached to another product or from search result.
    • Type a search string in the Search box of the Bar and click Search . An immersive table appears. Select documents from the immersive table.

    Select the Multiselection check box to enable multiple selection of documents. To add multiple documents simultaneously, select multiple documents from the search results list.

    Notes: The mouse pointer changes to when you select a document and it changes to when you select an object other than a document.
  9. To exit, click Close.
    Notes:
    • By default, the Search Within command is disabled.
    • The Search Within command is available only for selection of chapters.
    • For selection of catalog in catalog browser, the Search Within command is not available.
