Lights Properties

Lights properties are managed through the Properties panel. You can view and modify them.

This page discusses:

General

Name
Defines the name of the light.
Active
Defines whether or not the light is active during a playing session.
Note: Even if lights are inactive, they still emit light.
Power
Lets you adjust the light power.
Diffuse Color
Defines the color of the light.
Cast Shadows
Displays or hides shadows created by the light.
Note: This property is only available with spot lights and directional lights.
Important: Shadows might not appear in the 3D area even if Cast Shadows is selected.

To make sure shadows appear, open the Visual Quality panel and check if Allow ground shadows and Allow inter-objects shadows are selected.

Inner Angle
Determines the angle in which the light intensity starts decreasing.
Note: This property is only available with spot lights.
Outer Angle
Determines the angle of the cone that emits light.
Note: This property is only available with spot lights.

Rendering

Clickable
Defines whether the light responds or not to a click.
Note: This property is available in the playing mode only.
Visible
Defines whether the light is visible or not.

Transformation

Position
Defines the position of the light in the parent coordinate system (X, Y, Z).
Note: Values are in mm.
Rotation
Defines the rotation of the light in the parent coordinate system (X, Y, Z).
Note: Values are in degrees.
Scale
Defines the uniform scale factor of the light.
