Vive Controller Properties

Vive Controller properties are managed through the Properties panel. You can view and modify them.

Vive Controller actors are virtual representations of controllers.

Properties are the same for both controllers.

This page discusses:

General

Name
Defines the name of the controller.
Active
Defines whether or not the actor is active during a playing session.
Notes:
  • The actor's activity depends on the context. If one or more parent actors are inactive in the hierarchy, the actor is also inactive.
  • When the actor is inactive during a playing session, its associated behaviors or scripts are inactive.
Geometry
Defines the geometry to use to represent the controller in the experience.

Two options are available:

  • HTC: Displays the default controller geometry provided by HTC.
  • None: Hides the controller geometry. You can use your own controller geometry by placing it under the controller actor.

Rendering

Clickable
Defines whether the controller responds to a click or not.
Note: This property is effective in the playing mode only.
Visible
Defines whether the controller is visible or not.
Note: This property hides the actor and its subactors.

Transformation

Position
Defines the position of the controller in the parent coordinate system (X, Y, Z).
Note: Values are in mm.
Rotation
Defines the rotation of the controller in the parent coordinate system (X, Y, Z).
Note: Values are in degrees.
Scale
Defines the uniform scale factor of the controller.

Associated Capacities

Drivers

  • Vibrates
When used in a Natural Language sentence, the capacity makes the corresponding controller vibrate for a given period.
