Editing 2D UI Actors

You can edit 2D UI actors. You can edit their properties or layout.

Edit 2D UI Actors Properties

You can edit existing UI actors properties from the Properties panel.

  1. Optional: If the Properties panel is not already open, click Properties Panel .
  2. In the panel, modify the properties as required (opacity, attachment, etc).

Edit Layout

You can edit the layout of UI actors.

  1. Select a UI actor in the work area.
  2. In the context toolbar, click Edit UI .
    A panel appears.
  3. To define the width and height, move the sliders.

    Tip: You can also enter pixels values.

  4. To align the actor in the work area, click a point.

  5. To align the UI actor with a 3D actor, do the following:
    1. Click 3D.
    2. In the list, select a 3D actor.
      The UI actor is linked to the 3D actor's position. If you move the 3D actor, the UI actor follows its position.
    3. Optional: To display the line that links the two actors, click Display Line.

      The following example shows a UI text box actor attached to a cube.

    Tips: There are other ways of aligning UI actors:

    In the 3D area, drag the actor to the required location.
    Note: Visual helpers appear to help you place the actor precisely.


    In the 3D area, click the actor and select the anchor symbol to display the alignment panel.

    In the Properties panel, edit the Attachment option to display the alignment panel.—
