Working with Slides

You can create, edit, and display a slide to capture the product with different viewpoints and markers.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Slide

You can create slides to display the products in different states, with different measures, sections, and markups.

  1. From the Markup section of the action bar, click Slide .

    You can also create a new slide using the following methods:

    • Click New Slide+ at the upper-right corner of the slides panel.
    • Right-click the thumbnail of any slide and select Slide .

    A new empty slide is created. If a format is linked to the previous slide, the contents of the format are added in this slide.

    The slide appears in the Slides panel on the left of the 3D area. The active slide is marked with a blue bar on the left of its thumbnail.

    Note: When the widget width is smaller than 550 pixels, the panel is automatically hidden in the following cases:
    • After displaying a slide from the Slides panel
    • While creating a new slide
    • While activating or deactivating the markup

  2. Optional: To delete a slide,
    1. Right-click a slide's thumbnail and select Delete.

      To select several slides, press the Shift key and select the required slides.

    2. Select several slides and press the Delete key.

    Whenever a slide is deleted all the features created in it are also deleted. Deleting a slide does not impact the formats associated with that slide. Only the link between the format and the slide is deleted.

The new slide is created and it can be edited or displayed anytime from the Slides panel.

Note: Whenever you create a new slide, the current viewpoint is copied in the new slide. Every slide has its own set of markup features.

Edit a Slide

You can edit the previously created slide.

  1. In the Slides panel, select the required slide.

    A blue bar on the left of the slide's thumbnail indicates that it is in the editing mode.

  2. Add or remove the 2D or 3D markers, measures, sections, change the viewpoint, or link a format.
  3. To change the name of the slide,
    1. Click the name of the slide in slide's thumbnails in the Slides panel.
    2. Enter the new name for the slide.
    3. Click anywhere outside the thumbnail.

      Important: For changing the name of a slide, make sure that the Display Slide title check box is selected. To verify this, from the Tools section of the action bar, click Preferences .

    Note: If you edit a slide and click another slide's thumbnail in the panel, the changes are stored and a newly selected slide is opened in the edit mode.
  4. Optional: To update the viewpoint of a slide in the thumbnail, click Update viewpoint on that particular thumbnail.

    The Update viewpoint is only available whenever the current viewpoint is different from the viewpoint saved in the slide.

  5. Optional: Click the markup activation option next to the markup name in the slides panel to hide all the markup features in the current slide.
    All the markup features disappear from both show and no show spaces.
    Note: Clicking on any slide thumbnail or the Slide command from the action bar reactivates the markup and all the markup features in both, show that as well as no show spaces of the current slide are visible again. All the other commands except the measure, section, and compare commands are unavailable. You can create temporary measurements and sections using these commands.
  6. Drag the slide thumbnail above or below another slide to reorder the slides.

    You can select several slides for reordering by selecting the check box at the left-top corner in their respective thumbnails.

    Important:
    • Slides can be reordered only within the markup, and cannot be moved under a different markup.
    • The reply slides cannot be reordered.

Display the Markup Content in the Presentation Mode

You can browse through the slides one after another in the presentation mode.

Tip: You can also browse through the markup slides in the slide show mode in 3DPlay Web App.

  1. Open a markup with at least one slide.
    The markup data is loaded.
    Note: In the Slides panel, a blue bar appears on the slide’s thumbnail, to indicate the currently displayed slide.
  2. From the standard area of the action bar, click Presentation Mode .
    • The markup data is displayed in the full-screen mode.
    • For every slide, slide specific information is displayed in the upper-left corner. To keep this information box visible, click it.
    • If the slide contains 3D annotations and technical feature attributes, a table displaying concerned attributes is displayed. The nature of the table depends on the types of attributes present and the available roles.
  3. Use one of the following options to display the next slide:
    • The > button on the right-hand side of the work area
    • Right or up arrow key
    • Page Up key
    • Contextual command
  4. Use one of the following options to display the previous slide:
    • The < button on the left-hand side of the work area
    • Left or down arrow key
    • Page Down key
    • Contextual command
  5. Use one of the following options to exit the presentation mode:
    • The button in the upper-right corner of the work area
    • Esc key
    • Contextual command
