Active Filters

You can use this visualization to add collapsible filter panels showing current active filters.

This task shows you how to:

Define the Data to Show

  1. In the Properties panel, go to Data.
  2. Select a data query and a Result Set.

Select the Active Filters Parameters

  1. In the Properties panel, go to Data.
  2. From Project variable, select or create the context variable which contains the app name.
  3. Optional: Select Display result set name if you want the filter badge to show that name before the dimension name, and the selected value.

In this example, out is the result name, Time is the dimension name, and 2013, the selected value.

  4. Optional: From the Active section, select Enable disjunctive refinement.

Note: By default, facets are exclusive, that is if you select a category value, all others are hidden. You can make facets disjunctive, to be able to select several category values, and keep the others available.

Define the Dimension

You can configure a dimension by selecting a field. By default, Data Perspective Studio suggests the dimensions available in the result set.

  1. In the Properties panel, go to Data.
  2. In Dimension, select the field to use.
  3. From Number of values per dimension, select the number of values to show on the UI.

Data Perspective Studio then applies pagination for other values.

  4. Optional: For Result set label, enter the label that you want to show for the result set in the Filters banner.

Define the Layout

  1. In the Properties panel, go to Style.
  2. Select Is sticky top widget to stick the visualization to the top of the screen.
  3. Select Enable Compact mode to show only a filter icon.
