Composites Forming Database Design Import

Database Design Import (DBDI) enables the migration of CATIA V5 data stored in a legacy database into 3DEXPERIENCE.

This topic specifies the import correspondences between V5 data types and 3DEXPERIENCE content types, and the import result. The statuses for import results are fully imported, partially imported, and not imported (-).

This page discusses:

Common Import Behavior

This section describes the behavior of CATIA V5 data stored in legacy databases imported into 3DEXPERIENCE that is common to all connectors.

Considerations

You should take the following considerations into account:

Cache Material
Database Design Import is possible only for data with cache material, i.e. either the cache material is already generated (document has been opened in V5R18 and migrated) or all material links contained in the document can be accessed to insure migration. If cache material is not generated and links to materials in a CATMaterial are not solvable, the migration is refused (a message is displayed).
When you select a Composites Design CATPart, Database Design Import retrieves the associated .CATMaterial and proposes it in the Files to Process dialog box. Click Import to import both.
