Common Import Behavior
This section describes the behavior of CATIA V5 data stored in legacy databases imported into 3DEXPERIENCE that is common to all connectors.
V5 Data Type | 3DEXPERIENCE Content Type | Import Result |
---|---|---|
Tooling Components | Tooling Components | Partially Imported |
User-Defined Tooling Components | Tooling Components | - |
User-Defined Impacting Body | - | - |
Considerations
You should take the following considerations into account:
- Visibility
- To avoid unexpected results, make sure the V5 Transparency Quality ( ) has been set to High(Alpha Blending).
- Tooling Components
- 3DEXPERIENCE Smart Mechanical Components andMold Tooling Design Components are products made compliant to Smart Mechanical rules. While the V5 CATParts and CATProducts containing them are fully imported as products, FBDI does not apply the Smart Mechanical rules to them. You must migrate those CATParts and CATProducts using the batch Utility ToolingMigration. This utility combines FBDI + Define Component (that applies the Smart Mechanical rules).
