This page discusses:

Names

Selected Resource
This non-editable field displays the name of the selected resource.
Profile Group Name
This field displays the current profile type among the list of available types. Each controller can have different types of profiles. These controls allow the user to:

  • View the list of available types
  • View how many profiles of a given type already exist.
  • Create a profile type
  • Delete a profile type
  • Copy a profile type definition

Filter Profile Type
This allows you to filter the list of profile types.

List of Existing Profiles

The List of Existing Profiles consists of the profiles available, based on the selections in the Profile Group Name and Filter Profile Type options. This list contains two columns:

Name
The names of the profiles, per the selections, appear in the list
Is Current
The profile that is current is indicated in this column.

Selected Profile

Once you select a profile, the information for that profile appears in this area, which has two tabs:

Attributes values
The list displays the attributes of the profile selected in the List of Existing Profiles. Users can edit the values by clicking on each field. You can create, copy, or delete profiles.
Profile used by
This list indicates which resource motion is using the profile selected selected under the List of Existing Profiles, which enables you to manage the impact of your changes to the profiles. You can replace the current profile selected with another one. You can replace one profile with another for a given set of resource motions (one or many).
Parameter Editor
You can modify the values of the parameters using this field.

Template Editor

When you edit or create a profile using the Profile Management dialog box, the Template Editor dialog box appears.

The constraints on changing parameters are as follows:

Parameter Name

The parameter name can only be changed if the parameter is a new parameter added on the profile type as an user parameter. The name cannot be changed:

  • If there are existing profile instances having this parameter
  • If the profile type and attributes belongs to the application (such as controller-specific profiles).
Parameter Type
This can only be changed if the parameter is a new parameter added on the profile type as a user parameter. The type cannot be changed:
  • If there are existing profile instances having this parameter
  • If the profile type and attributes belongs to the application (such as controller-specific profiles).
Parameter Value
This cannot be changed if the parameter belongs to an application (such as controller-specific profiles).
