Typing a 3D Product as a Conveyor

The process of conveyor section definition begins with an existing 3D model of a conveyor. A simple 3D conveyor consists of two linear sections and four circular sections.

The definition of conveyor sections does not require the whole conveyor to be loaded in the session. Instead, you can load one section at time and define the attributes that correspond to the conveyor type. The whole system can be assembled into one large unit.

Before you begin: You have a 3D model representing a conveyor loaded in your session.
  1. From the Resource Creation section of the action bar, click Generate a resource .
You are prompted to select a product.
  2. In the work area or the tree, select the product to be typed as a conveyor.
The Generate a Resource panel appears.
  3. Select Conveyor in the list and click OK.
The selected product is typed as a conveyor, and you can use the commands in the Conveyor section of the action bar to add sections, trolleys and guides.
