Defining Mount Points

You can create workpiece, tool mount, head mount, and head base points on a NC resource.

This task shows you how to:

Define Workpiece Mount Point

You can create workpiece mount points on a NC resource using the Define Workpiece Mount Point command.

From the Resource Creation section of the action bar, click Define Workpiece Mount Point , and select the NC Resource node from the tree.
The Define Workpiece Mount Point dialog box appears.
Modify the Name of the mount point.
Select the Exposed Object to be of type Axis.
Important: The Exposed Axis System of a mount point has to be under the Machining Part (in this case Machine Bed) which is part of the Kinematic Chain.

Click OK to create the workpiece mount point.
This creates a node with the workpiece mount point name in the tree, under the Publications node.

You can create tool mount points on a NC resource using the Define Tool Mount Point command.

From the Resource Creation section of the action bar, click Define Tool Mount Point , and select desired node from the tree.
The Define Tool Mount Point dialog box appears.
Modify the Name of the tool mount point.
Select the Exposed Object to be of type Axis.
Important: The Exposed Axis System of a mount point has to be under the Machining Part (in this case Machine Bed) which is part of the Kinematic Chain.

Click OK to create the tool mount point.
This creates a node with the tool mount point name in the tree, under the Publications node.

You can create head mount points on a NC resource using the Define Head Mount Point command.

The Define Head Mount Point dialog box appears.
Modify the Name of the head mount point.
Select the Exposed Object to be of type Axis.
