Updating, from the Physical or Logical Model, a Generated Modelica Model of a Kinematic Mechanism or an Engineering Model

When the physical or logical data involved in a mechanism generating a Modelica model is modified, you can update the generated model the following ways:

  • The model generation command, that is, depending on what type of model you work with:
    • Generate from Kinematic
    • Generate from Engineering Model
  • This command
  • Any of the generic PLM update commands

This task shows you how to:

Update Using This Command

You can update the generated model using this command.

To update, click this command.
The properties of the mechanical model are recomputed, and the Modelica code of the model is regenerated. For an engineering model, the Modelica model is generated using the mapping used for the initial model generation.
Tip: This command works independently of the locking of generated classes. You don´t have to unlock any classes.
Note: For a kinematic mechanism, the root physical model is set to authoring mode to retrieve some data from that model.
