Navigating the Component Path

When you apply the command Show Component Instance, by default a component path navigation bar appears in the upper left part of the diagram. You can use this bar to navigate the path, or to navigate between displayed components.


Before you begin: To be able to display a component path, apply the command Show Component Instance.
  1. To display the component path navigation bar if not already displayed, from the View section of the action bar, click Component Path .

    By default, this command is active. The command works in toggle mode.

    Tip: You can also access this command from the App Options panel.

    The component path navigation bar is displayed in the upper left part of the window. An example of a component path navigation bar can be:

  2. To go back to a parent component or to the parent class, click the corresponding item in the navigation bar.

    Clicking the first item in the path, indicated by , the navigation bar disappears since you are now in the active parent class.

  3. To display a previously displayed component from the component navigation history, click any of the arrows in the bar:
    • Previous Activated Object to display the previous model from the navigation history.
    • Next Activated Object to display the next model from the navigation history.

    These arrows are also present in the Component Browser.
