Update Using the Model Generation Command
You can update the generated model using the model generation command.
-
Activate the generated model to be updated from the physical or logical model.
Note:
You don´t have to open the physical or logical model. It opens automatically when
you perform the following command.
-
Depending on what model to update, perform any of the commands:
- For a mechanism of a physical product, from the Behavior
Tools section of the action bar, click Generate from
Kinematic
.
- For an engineering model, from the Behavior Tools section
of the action bar, click Generate from Engineering
Model
.
Note:
An engineering model can be any of:
- A 3D piping model.
- A 3D HVAC model.
- A schematic P&ID model. This is a logical model, but it can be linked to
physical objects.
The dialog for the model generation appears, prefilled with the same settings
as the ones used for generating the model.
-
Click OK.
The model is regenerated, and automatically updated from the physical or
logical model.
Update Using the
Update Current Model from Physical Model Command
You can update the generated model using the command Update Current Model from
Physical Model
.
From the Behavior Tools section of the action bar, click Update Current Model from Physical
Model
.
The properties of the mechanical model are recomputed, and the Modelica code
of the model is regenerated. For an engineering model, the Modelica model is generated
using the mapping used for the initial model generation.
Note:
For a kinematic mechanism, the following applies:
- The root physical model is set to authoring mode to retrieve some data from that
model.
- If you have already loaded the physical product in the session, for example, you
have opened it in a tab, only the relevant parts are loaded, not the full product,
to not alter any filtering you have done. If the product is not in the session,
the full product is loaded.
Update Using the Generic Update Commands
You can update the generated model using any of the generic commands
Update or Update Assistant.
Perform an update with or without the update assistant.
- To update without the update assistant, from the standard area of the action bar, click Update
.
- To update with the update assistant, from the standard area of the action bar, click Update Assistant
.
For more information about the update command and the update assistant command, see
Assembly Design User´s Guide: Update.
The properties of the physical product are recomputed, and the Modelica code
of the model is regenerated.
Notes:
- The root physical model containing the
mechanism is set to authoring mode to retrieve some data from that model.
- If you have already loaded the physical
product in the session, for example, you have opened it in a tab, only the
relevant parts are loaded, not the full product, to not alter any filtering you
have done. If the product is not in the session, the full product is loaded.
