Editing an Equation using the Equation Editor

You can add, remove or edit equations for a Modelica class using the Equation Editor. This editor displays a mathematical notation view.

Note: The Equation Editor is limited. The Modelica Editor is the main tool for editing Modelica text.


Before you begin:

Activate a class from the Package Browser.

  1. From the Package Browser, double-click to activate a class.
  2. From the View section of the action bar, click Equation Editor .
    The Equation Editor displays the corresponding equation.

    Tip: You can find this command also in the App Options panel. To access the App Options panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, select App Options .
  3. To modify the equation, click inside the Equation Editor.
    The edition view appears.

    Notes:
    • If you enter an invalid equation, the Equation Editor background becomes red and the Messages Reporting window indicates the error.
    • As soon as the text is modified, an asterisk "*" is added to the title bar.
  4. To return to the mathematical notation view, click anywhere outside the Equation Editor.
  5. If needed, minimize the Equation Editor.
    The Equation Editor symbol appears on the right side of your screen.
  6. Click the icon to maximize the Equation Editor.
  7. To hide the Equation Editor, click again (from the action bar or the App Options panel) Equation Editor .
