Detecting and Handling Physical Clashes

You can detect and handle clashes in simulations of Modelica models generated from physical mechanisms. If a clash occurs, clashing objects are highlighted, and the simulation can be stopped.

Notes:
  • If contact occurs during initialization of the model, the clash computation supposes the contact as normal; no action is performed (highlighting or stop on clash). If contact remains for the following simulation steps, no action is performed.
  • Clash computation is performed only on CATIA Physical 3D shapes; Modelica shapes, VRML, DXF etc. shapes are not taken into account for clash computation.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Simulate a Modelica model generated from a physical mechanism.
Important: One of the objects involved must be fixed.
