Display

You can display information in a Messages Reporting window in a number of ways.

  • Authoring and simulation messages are shown in separate tabs.
  • The window is displayed scrolled to the last reported message, however, if that message is part of a structured message, the top message is always displayed.
  • To show or hide the messages, select one of the following buttons in the upper part of the window:
    • (information)
    • (warnings)
    • (errors)
  • You can expand or collapse message groups.
  • To see the full message of a line, click the line. The full message is shown in the lower pane of the window.
  • In the Simulation tab also a column presenting the corresponding model is displayed.
  • Previous messages are kept, unless deleted. To delete the messages of the selected tab, select Clear the current tab .
  • A tooltip is available for each message; useful if the window is small.
  • You can click the column headers to sort the lines.

Minimize or Display the Message Reporting Window

You cannot close the Messages Reporting window, but you can minimize it. Once minimized, select Messages Reporting on the right side of the screen to display the window.

Navigate from the Messages Reporting Window

If the message line contains Modelica item names, they may be listed in the Model column. For such items, you can navigate.

  • You can click the hyperlinks in the message pane in the lower part of the Messages Reporting window.
  • Alternatively, you can also right-click such a line and use the context menu. The difference is that you see the complete Modelica names in the context menu.

The result of any alternative is that the corresponding model is activated. If the item corresponds to a component or connector in the model, that model is highlighted in the diagram.
