X-CAD Design Management provides multi-language support for all X-CAD Design Management features and user interface pages.
The system administrator must create the custom attributes for each of the supported languages such as German, French, Italian, Japanese, and English. The administrator creates Configurable Admin tables for each of the languages and maps them in the configuration (GCO).
In addition, the emxIEFDesignCenterStringResource.properties file contains text strings used throughout the X-CAD Design Management user interface. See the Collaboration and
Approvals Administration Guide for details on internationalizing string resources. To internationalize, you can create a custom Work Space Table using the Create Workspace Table option described in the X-CAD Design Management
User's Guide.
Only the display name of admin types are localized on the basis of client machine's "locale".
You can view the localized types, policies, states on the native app dialog boxes and web app pages. For example, Save, Open/Insert, and web pages like Search, Summary, Save As, and Promote. The Lateral view (Document Version) and Vertical View (Related Documents) list options are also localized.
You can configure the attribute enablelanguage in the config.xml file. If you set the attribute enablelanguage to true, the language set in the language attribute overrides the language set in the client locale. If the attribute enablelanguage is set to false or not added in the config.xml file, the server is displayed in the current client locale language.
Note:
You must add the enablelanguage attribute manually in config.xml file during installation.
If you have created any custom admin entities, then they also can be localized in the supported languages mentioned above, if
They have been correctly created / installed.
Their entries are added in following resource files.
The following resource files should contain the entries of the admin types, policies, and states installed by the Connector app:
