Relationship Details

You can view an object's parent/child relationships by clicking the arrows in the Relationship Details column of a Navigator page. View the Navigator page and click the arrow pointing to an object to view details on how the objects are connected. See Navigator Page

Details

This page lists the type/name/revision for the objects on the From and To sides of the relationship. For either side of the relationship, this page also defines these details.

Section Name Description
Meaning A description of the basic type used for the relationship.
Types All object types that the relationship can be used with.
Cardinality

Cardinality refers to the number of relationships that can simultaneously exist between the two instances of objects. It can have One or Many as its values. For more information, see ENOVIA Studio Modeling Platform MQLGuide.

Upon RevisionThe status of the relationship of the connected object upon revision. This is specified by the revision rule associated with each connection end. The relationship has the following value:
  • None - The Status quo is maintained. The revised object has no connection.
  • Float - The connection shifts to the revised object.
  • Replicate - A new connection is made to the revised object. The original connection is left intact.

For more information, see ENOVIA Studio Modeling Platform MQLGuide.

You can also edit the following attributes in the Relationship Details page:

Section Name Description
Tree Order Tree Order
IEF-ExcludeFromBOM Select if you want to exclude the design not included in the CAD structure.
Reference Designator A Reference Designator is used on a Bill of Materials (BOM) as an identifier for a component. The reference designator ID is used on printed circuit cards to indicate the location an electronic component is to be inserted. Reference designator s are usually values like R1, R2, R7 or C1, C5 (R for resistor and C for capacitor).
Quantity This field displays the quantity value for all the relationships with a particular child.
Spatial Location Location where the component must be placed.
Renamed From Enter original name of the component.
Bounding Box Enter the diagonal vertices of a bounding box bounding the model.
CAD Object Name Name of the CAD Object
New Transformation Matrix Specify the new transformation matrix that must be applied for the structure.
Parent Instance Enter the name of the parent instance.
Must In Structure Select TRUE to specify that the component must be present in the structure. Select FALSE to signify that it need not be present.
MCADInteg-RevReplacedFrom Original revision of the object, if it has been replaced.
Child Instance Enter the name of the child instance.
IEF-UUID This field applies to CATIA only. Specify a value as a universally unique identifier.
