Known Limitation in Design Management for AutoCAD/Inventor/MicroStation/SolidEdge
The following is a known limitation in Design Management for AutoCAD/Inventor/MicroStation/SolidEdge for the SaveAs feature.
- Create a simple assembly -> component structure and check it in to create version A.0.
- Search for the assembly and use Save As to create a clone of the entire structure with a different name.
- Search for both the assemblies: the original and the cloned.
- From the Search Results page, select both the assemblies, and click Actions -> Checkout.
- On the Checkout page, expand both nodes, select all the designs, and click Checkout.
- After loading the assembly files in your CAD Tool, check the references of the part file in each assembly.
The Cloned part will be connected to both the assemblies instead of being connected to only the cloned assembly.
To prevent this issue, multiple checkouts should not be performed for original and cloned assemblies.
Note:
You cannot create MCAD Objects that is MCAD Drawing and MCAD Model from Engineering > Specification.
Known Limitation in Connector for Solid Edge
The following is a known limitation in Connector for Solid Edge for the Save As feature.
Due to the Solid Edge API limitation, even if the a new "assembly family" member is created, the new formed member does not inherit the "family member" data like variables, occurrences from the parent member.
