Changing Object Ownership

You can change the ownership of a checked in object to another user. This enables the new owner to perform the required actions on the object.

You can change the owner of only revision objects. You cannot change owner of iterations.

You can change the owner of objects only if you have the change ownership rights. You can mass update the ownership of objects in an assembly or drawing structure.

You can also update the ownership of objects in a family structure depending on the GCO settings done by your administrator, see X-CAD Design Management Install Admin Guide.

If the GCO setting are such that the revision mode of the family objects is together, then, if the owner attribute is updated for a family of any one instance then all objects in family tower are updated with the same owner.

For example, in the Navigate page, if the Owner attribute is updated using Mass Update functionality then, all objects in Family Tower which may or may not present in Navigate page, are updated as a result of Mass Update operation.

Also, if the owner is updated using Object Details Page, the entire family tower is updated.

If the GCO setting are such that the revision mode of the family objects is individual, then updating owner on the family or instance does not cause it to be updated on other objects in the family tower.

  1. Search for objects and select the object from the results page.

You can also change the owner from the Navigate page.
