Administration Roadmap

The Device Identification app lets you manage device identifiers for medical device products and submit the device identification information to the regulatory authority.

To implement Device Identification, certain software components must be installed, set up, and configured to match your business processes and environment.

These supporting components include the application server, and 3DSpace. The table below contains a list of supporting components that need to be installed and configured along with a reference for more information. For Device Identification tasks, the table provides cross references to the sections of this guide that describe those steps and options.

Device Identification

Install or upgrade Device Identification.

Install or upgrade Device Identification and these required or optional apps in the following order:

  1. Change Management
  2. Quality-based Document Control (optional)
  3. Complaints and Nonconformance (optional)
  4. Adverse Event Reporting (optional)
  5. Engineering BOM Management (optional, but required for Device Master Record Management)
  6. Device Master Record Management (optional)
  7. Project Management
