Assignment Manager

The Assignable Requirement lower half of the panel manages the assignable requirements with two tabs.

For items, the content is as follows:

• : Assignable requirements to the item by the assignable requirements algorithm for items.
• : Requirements that are already assigned to another item.

For operations, the content is as follows:

• : Assignable requirements to the operation by the assignable requirements algorithm for operations.
• : Requirements that are already assigned to another operation.

For work instructions, the content is as follows: : Requirements assigned on the parent operation.

Assign Requirement

To assign a requirement not assigned to another object, you must select one or more requirements in the Unassigned Requirements list and click Assign Selected Requirement .

Unassign Requirement

To unassign a requirement, select the requirement in the Assigned Requirements list and click .

Move/Reroute Requirement

To assign a requirement assigned to another object (that is, move or reroute the requirement), you must select one or more requirements in Assigned Requirements list and click Assign Selected Requirement . This removes the old assignment and creates the assignation between the current object and the requirement.

Multi-Assign Requirement

To assign several times a requirement to a planning object, use the command. This command is available on the Assigned Requirements tab.

Note: All the requirement lists (Assigned Requirements, Unassigned Requirements, and Other Assigned Requirements) support multiselection.

Search and Assign Requirement

To search a requirement and assign it to the current object opened in the Assignment Manager panel, click Requirement Chooser in the Assigned Requirements tab.

Filtering Requirement

To filter requirements based on substring, click Filter from the Assigned Requirements tab. Enter a text, then click the column header to filter rows based on the attribute value of that particular column.

Note: All the requirement lists (Assigned Requirements, Unassigned Requirements, and Other Assigned Requirements) enable Filter command.

Out of Scope Requirements Representation

The Requirement Status column in the Assigned Requirement list displays the assignment status of the requirement. There are three possible values:

• The cell is empty: The requirements are in the scope.
• Out of Scope: The requirements are out of scope without a "new clone" in the assignable list.
• Obsolete: The requirements are out of scope with a "new clone" in the assignable list.

Out of scope requirements can be resulted in various use cases:

• The requirements assigned earlier are deleted from the requirement specifications.
• Because of modifications in scope like Global Specification link that was present earlier and has been removed.

Obsolete requirements can be the result of a new revision in the server or can be possible when the annotation is modified, published in the CATIA 3D Tolerancing & Annotation app.

Modify Usage of Assigned Requirements

You can modify the usage of assigned requirements, by means of a list available in the Usage column. The list of usages is still defined by the business rule DELPPRRequirementUsages_ID (usage definition and a combination of usages) minus the usage on other objects. If two usages are defined and the requirement is already assigned with the two usages, the usage cannot be modified.

Tip: You can view additional attributes on the requirement object by clicking Attributes Customization from the Assignments Manager panel.

Ranking Assigned Requirements on Operations and Work Instructions

Requirements assigned on the operations and work instructions will be given a rank when assigned. You can modify the ranking to better fit your needs.

When assigning a requirement to an operation, the Rank column is filled in for the assigned requirement. No input is required for rank calculation. It is automatic.

For example, the first assigned requirement has a rank of 1. The next assigned requirement has a rank of 2. If you assign five requirements to an operation, depending on the order in which you assigned the requirements, they will have ranks 1 through 5 respectively.

Changing the Rank of Assigned Requirements

You can change the rank by moving the requirement using the up or down arrows in the Assigned Requirements list.

You can also move the selected requirement after a particular requirement using Move After Requirement .

Note: A requirement must be selected to enable these actions.

Sorting Requirements on Rank Column

In the same way as the regular sorting on the different columns in the Assignment Manager panel, you can sort the assigned requirements based on the Rank column.

Persistence of Assigned Rank

The ranks of the assigned requirement are maintained regardless of the current session.

• When you close and reopen the Assignment Manager, the previous ranks are restored.
• When you close and open a new session, the previous ranks are restored.
