About User-Defined Attribute Text Locations

This enhances profile feature generation and XML extraction for user-defined texts by applying your requirements.

Automatic Text Arrangement Rule

During profile feature planning, this arranges user-defined texts. There are 2 different arrangement behaviors depending on whether the profile cutting length is less or greater than 24 inches. The profile cutting length calculates from Mfg zero points and also the user-defined text is coming from Mfg zero start point. However, if there are no zero points, then it uses the extremity points of profiles.

The details for 2 different arrangement behaviors:

  • Case 1 - Profile Cutting Length is the same or less than 24 inches. If the profile cutting length is 24 inches or less, then the first user-defined text locates in the center of the profile. Other user-defined texts locate vertically under the first. This arrangement is the same as the existing behavior.

  • Case 2 - Profile Cutting Length is greater than 24 inches. Sometimes the profile cutting length is greater than 24 inches. In this case, the first user-defined text is located at the start location from the start of the profile and 1.5 inches away from the bottom of the profile. Other user-defined texts horizontally locate next to the first.

The start location value is coming from the Start location preferences option.

Automatic Text Arrangement Option

Before profile XML extraction, the Automatic text arrangement option can be selected. In this case, even though the user-defined texts already move, all the user-defined texts rearrange internally, and extract to the profile XML.

So if not selecting the option, then the texts do not rearrange. If selecting the option, then the texts rearrange and the relocated position depends on the profile cutting length.

  • Case 1 - The option is not selected. In this case, the user-defined texts draw at the same position in 3D, and this does not impact the profile cutting length.
  • Case 2 - The option is selected and the profile cutting length is the same or less than 24 inches. In the Automatic Text Arrangement mode case, if the profile cutting length is the same or less than 24 inches, then Automatic text arrangement Case 1 is applied.
  • Case 3 - The option is selected and the profile cutting length is greater than 24 inches. If the profile cutting length is greater than 24 inches, then the Automatic text arrangement Case 2 applies.

All other values for the user-defined text in the profile XML are defined as machine default.

<hor_ref_point>, <vert_ref_point>, <orientation>, <char_width>

Turn off if a bar is less than or equal to. During profile XML extraction, if the profile cutting length is less than or equal to a given option value, the User-Defined Text does not extract in XML.

Profile XML Extraction

After feature and text generation, the user can move any texts to the other location in 3D as shown.

And then if you extract the profile XML, each relocated text extracts to XML with the location information of the text itself.
