Create edge preparation, positive margin, or negative margin features on split plate edges
connected by the weld through the Weld Action Rule. Or, create opening preparation
features on split plates through the Opening Action Rule.
- Basic Feature Generation:
During update IPM, DST generates all the
basic features like BSU, Outer Contour, and so on,
for the split plate. The functionality and result of split plates is the
same as normal plates.
- Rule Based Feature Generation:
- Weld Action Rule: Written in EKL language, this action rule
generates a code used to retrieve values from the Weld Detail
Table.
There is a Butt-Plate
weld type between split plates of new panels. You can create an
action rule to generate a code as per the logic required and assign
it in the Weld Action Rule in data setup. During update IPM, you can
search for the code generated from this action rule using the
Weld Detail Table.
You can retrieve
the values of edge preparation and positive and negative margins
corresponding with the code. The update then applies the code to the
objects connected by the weld.
Using this action rule, you can
determine whether or not the creation of an attachment line or an
alignment line took place.
- Opening Action Rule: This action rule is for different opening
preparation types.
The input for this action rule is a SDD
Opening feature and a processing item on which an
opening is created. The defined and created action rule is referred
to in the Update IPM Process. Output of this
action rule is a type of opening preparation creation. For example:
cut, marked, drilled, and others, is a String
output.
The opening preparation type is based on the output
string of the action rule.
- Opening preparations types valid for cutouts on split
plates: none, marked, cut, bridged, tabbed, and
drilled.
- Opening preparation types valid for slots on split plate
Boundary Opening Preparation
types: marked and cut.
Note:
The action rules are defined in the rule catalog Data
Setup.
