Simulation Options: NC Simulation Options

The NC Simulation tab of the Simulation Options dialog box provides options for configuring the machine simulation. It enables you to set up cutting tool conditions, simulate stop condition, modify cutter compensation parameters for Milling and Turning tools, display controller states during simulation, and define custom messages. You can access the Simulation Options dialog box at the right edge of the work area.

NC Simulation Options

Enable Machine Kinematics
Select to allow machine kinematics during machine simulation.
Enable Material Removal
Select to allow the following options:
Option Description
Synchronize Material Removal with Simulation Steps

Synchronizes the material removal with the simulation steps. This option is applied to a machine simulation based either on the tool path or NC code and impacts the visualization only. The material removed is visualized between the tool path points according to the simulation step.

Enable Material Add Back During Backward Simulation

Select to allow adding back material removed during backward simulation, and to allow the modification of maximum steps backward.

Enable Detailed Clash Results

Select to allow detailed clash result computation, such as tool sweep, during simulation.

Save stock result with all information Stores material removal stock results along with information like color, machining activity/tool name, and geometry information.
Cutting Tool Condition

Lets you select one of the following options from the Cutting tool condition list:

  • Nominal
  • Maximum Wear
  • User Defined.
Note: These options do not appear if you set the simulation options in the Machining Scenario dialog box.

Merge clashes in fault list Automatically merges clashes. Merging automatically causes issues in machining with robots and with drilling-riveting since movements in these applications are very large, so it is important to report clashes all along the movements.
Enable Sweep Based Continuous Clash Detection Enables or disables sweep based continuous clash detection for all clash pairs.
Maximum Distance Between Steps
Lets you specify the maximum distance between simulation steps.
Turn Stock Cut Plane Angle
Lets you specify the display rotation angle of the cut plane in turning view. The rotation is applied to the turning plane.
Stop When Errors Exceed
Lets you specify a value to set up a stop condition.
Stop at tool change
Stops simulation at every tool change when checked. Applicable in NC code simulation.
NC Code Simulation
Activates the configuration of the NC code simulation.
Tool Compensation Table
Opens the Cutter Compensation Management for Simulation dialog box. Displays the tools used in the machining operations of a manufacturing program.
Notes:
  • This section does not appear if you set the simulation options in the Machining Scenario dialog box.
  • This option is available only if the NC Code Simulation check box is selected.
Custom Messages
Opens the Custom Messages dialog box showing all the messages. You can use this dialog box to create, modify, delete, import, and export the data.
Note: This option is available only if the NC code Simulation check box is selected.
