-
From the Setup section of the action bar, click Synchronize Data with Planning
and select a part operation.
The
Get Planning Data dialog box appears.
The data listed in the dialog box is:
- The design part.
- The stock.
- The manufacturing requirements.
- The process output attached to the planning operation, supporting
the holes.
- The part containing the geometry definition of holes to be machined.
Holes are defined as a set of points with the origin coordinates,
axis, diameter, depth, and drilling type (predrilling, drilling, not
to be machined). This definition is used as is, with no coherence
check or adjustment (for example: the depth of the hole is not
adjusted to the part height).
-
Select each element listed in the dialog box:
-
Click an action from the list, either
Transfer or None.
- Transfer: Creates an instance of the
imported data (part to machine, stock, or process output
supporting the holes). It can also create a new part
containing geometry data for the holes data under the manufacturing product associated with the part operation.
- None: No transfer occurs.
-
You must specify a design part, stock, requirement, or process
output supporting the holes if it already exists in the manufacturing product and must be replaced by the data you are importing.
Note:
This functionality is not available for holes.
- Optional:
In Drilling and Riveting operations:
-
Click an action from the list under Manufacturing
fastener creation options:
- Create manufacturing fasteners and
patterns: Create manufacturing fasteners related to all the design fasteners that are instantiated
under the manufacturing product and group them into a manufacturing pattern based on their reference type. This option is selected by
default.
- Create manufacturing fasteners:
Create just the manufacturing fasteners related to all design fasteners that are instantiated
under manufacturing product. No grouping of patterns occurs with this option.
- No action: Does not create any manufacturing fasteners.
Note:
When updating a synchronization from planning data, only out
of date manufacturing fasteners are updated. The list of available actions also changes to:
Update manufacturing fasteners and
patterns, and Update manufacturing
fasteners.
-
Click [...] to select a rivet table from the
database as the reference for the parameters of the created manufacturing fasteners.
- Optional:
Select Process managed fasteners only to
only instantiate fasteners already existing in the selected system
or operation.
-
Click OK.
A manufacturing product is created. It contains the following elements defined from the planning data:
- The part to machine.
- A list of the specified manufacturing requirements (visible in the
manufacturing view).
- The part supporting the holes.
- The part containing the geometry definition of the holes to be machined. A
Machinable Axial Feature is created for each hole
imported. You can use it to create patterns.
In Drilling and Riveting operations, a manufacturing fastener is created for each fastener
instantiated from the planning data. Then, a manufacturing pattern is created to
group the corresponding manufacturing fasteners.
Note:
Modifications to the planning data are not propagated to the data imported in
the manufacturing product. It must be imported again.
The status of the data is displayed by a green or red thumb. No status is
displayed if:
- The planning operation does not contain information.
- Nothing has been previously transferred to the manufacturing product.
