Using the Manufacturing View

You can access the Manufacturing View by clicking in the docking area on the left side of the work area. Two display options are available: a simple view that provides display and sorting options, and an advanced view that provides a detailed overview of machining features.

The Manufacturing View is populated with features created in the Manufacturing Programs, such as: Machining Patterns, Prismatic Machining Areas, Prismatic Rework Areas, Machinable Axial Features, Machinable Area Features, Machining Areas, Slope Areas, Rework Areas, Offset Groups, and Geometrical Zones.

This task shows you how to:

Using the Simple View: Tree Mode

  1. Click Manufacturing View in the docking area on the left side of the work area.
    The simple view is displayed by default.
  2. Select Select Feature Filter if you are in tree mode or Select Feature Filter if you are in list mode to specify filter options. You can filter by selected features, selected machining features, patterns by geometry, or patterns by usage.
    The display in the Manufacturing View changes accordingly.
  3. Select Delete Unused Features and select the type of features to delete.
    They are deleted from the Manufacturing View.
  4. Select one feature in the Manufacturing View.
    It is highlighted in the work area.
    Tip: Standard commands such as Hide, Show, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete are available in the context menus of the items, when relevant.
  5. Select a column and click Select by String to highlight rows whose content correspond to a given text string.
    1. Enter any string in the Type field.
    2. Press Enter.
    Rows with the corresponding attributes are displayed.
  6. Select a column and click Filter Manager to hide or show attributes automatically.
    1. Optional: Enter a string in the text field to display only the rows that contain that attribute string.
    2. Click or to remove or apply a selected filter.
    3. Click Hide/Show All to remove or apply all filters

    Note: Parent rows containing child rows whose attribute is not filtered out are still displayed in the Resource Configuration View.

    Activities with the corresponding filtered attributes are displayed. When filtering is applied, the filter icon appears in the column header.
  7. Click Attribute Manager to open the attribute panel that displays a list of all the available attribute columns.
    1. Click Apply Hide/Show or to hide or show an attribute column.
    2. Click Hide/Show All Columns to hide or show all the attribute columns displayed in the tree.

      Note: You cannot hide the column Display Name.

    3. Enter a string in the text field to filter columns according to a specific attribute.
    4. Optional: Reorder columns using the up and down arrows.

    Note: You cannot reorder the column Display Name.

  8. Click Preset Manager to save column orders and filters as preferred displays.
    1. Enter a name for the preset in the text field and click Create Preset .
    2. Click Save current PPR spreadsheet configuration to save any modifications made to a given preset.
    3. Click Delete Preset to delete the selected preset.
    4. Click Load Preset to load an existing preset.
    5. Click Reset current PPR spreadsheet configuration to revert to the original view (after having applied multiple filters, for example).
  9. Click Export Content to export the contents of the tree to a .txt, .csv, or .tsv file format.
    1. Enter a file name.
    2. Specify a save location.
    3. Specify the format of the file: .txt, .csv, or .tsv.
    4. Click Save.

Using the Advanced View: List Mode

  1. Click Manufacturing View in the docking area on the left side of the work area.
    The simple view is displayed by default.
  2. Click Toggle between simple and advanced view .
    The Advanced View: Table listing the machinable axial features in the session is displayed.
    Note: You can click to switch back to the simple view.
  3. Click Select Sorted View, and then select the type of element to be displayed.
    Only the selected type is displayed in the Manufacturing View.
  4. Select Select Feature Filter to specify filter options.
    The display in the Manufacturing View changes accordingly.
  5. Select Delete Unused Features and select the type of features to delete.
    They are deleted from the Manufacturing View.
  6. Click Reframe On to reframe the view in the work area onto the selected features.
  7. Click Reset filter to display all features of a particular type in the session.
  8. Click Select Matching Features to automatically select features and highlight them in the work area for a selected group of properties.
  9. Select a column and click Filter Manager to hide or show attributes automatically.
  10. Click Attribute Manager to open the attribute panel that displays a list of all the available attribute columns. For more information, see Using the Simple View: Tree Mode.
  11. Left-click a machinable axial feature in the list to display its context menu.
