Creating a Rectangular Rough Stock

You can create a rectangular rough stock for a roughing operation.

Before you begin:
  • The roughing takes all the elements defined in the OpenBody into account, but not the Hide, Show status of the sub-elements.
  • This is only an example. The menus available and the setup of the dialog boxes may change depending on the licences you are using.
  • You must have a part to machine in your application.
  1. From the Stock Creation panel, select Rectangular Stock in the Mode box.

    Note: This mode is set by default.

  2. Select the part on which the rough stock is to be created.
    The Part body information is updated accordingly.
  3. Optional: If required, modify the axis system used to define the rough stock by clicking Select Axis then choosing:
    • An axis in one of the other axis systems
    • A plane
    • A planar surface
  4. Optional: Modify the X,Y,Z values.

    Note: You can also use the manipulator in the 3D area

  5. Click OK to create the rough stock.
