Creating a Stock as a Cylinder

You can define the reference part body and select the direction of the cylinder to create a stock in a cylindrical stock mode.

Before you begin: Define a part to machine.
  1. From the Stock Creation panel, select Cylindrical Stock in the Mode box.
  2. Select the Part Body on which the Cylindrical Stock is to be created.
  3. Optional: Modify the Axis values.
  4. Optional: In the Parameters area, define the additional parameters.

Note: The Total Length parameter can be as follows:
    • Locked: The manipulators are renamed Position.1 and Position.2. You can either modify the positions values or the total length value. If you modify the positions values, the cylinder is only moved according to the cylinder axis and the total length remains unchanged. If you modify the total length value, the difference compared to the computed total length value is added or subtraced to the value of Position.1.
    • Unlocked: The manipulators are renamed Offset.1 and Offset.2. If you modify the offset values, the cylinder’s height is larger or smaller. This modifies the total length accordingly. If you modify the total length value, the half of the difference compared to the computed total length value is added or removed to the value of each Offset.
