Creating a Stock as an Offset on Part
You can create a stock as an offset of the part for a
Machining
operation, or for a simulation.
Before you begin:
The output is not an exact
offset
of the part: details not seen in the offset direction may be omitted.
The bottom of the result is always flat and situated in a plane above the lowest point of the part at a distance equal to the offset value.
The result is not associative.
From the
Stock Creation
panel, select
By Offset
in the
Mode
box.
Select the
Part body
, for example, the part on which the offset is computed.
Select the
Direction
, for example select a line to take its orientation, or a plane to take its normal.
The direction is displayed.
Optional:
Modify the value of the
Offset
and
Tolerance
parameters.
Decide whether you want to limit the
stock
:

Generating too many passes:

Generating only the required passes:
Click
Compute Stock
to visualize the result, and then click
OK
to validate and create the offset.

of the computed stock is displayed for information.
