Editing Points of a Tool Path

You can select one or several points of a tool path to cut or move them. You can also insert points in the tool path.


Before you begin: Start the tool path editor as explained in Editing Tool Paths.
  1. Click Point Modification .
    Tip: As you move the pointer along the tool path, pickable points are shown as a black dot.
  2. Pick a point or use the selection commands to select the points to edit:
    Multi-selection: select several points one by one.
    Selection by sweep: select several points by sweeping the pointer over them.
    Selection between 2 points: select all the points between two picked points.
    Note: The two points must belong to the same tool path.
    Selection by polyline: select all the points inside a polyline.
    Reverse: reverses the current selection.
    Reset: resets all the selections.

    An arrow appears on the last selected point. Possible actions are Cut, Move or Insert.

  3. Select the Visualize Circles check box.
    This is optional and when selected:
    • This option visualizes circles as such
    • When cleared this visualizes circles as polylines.
  4. Click Cut to cut the selected points.
  5. Do one of the following to define a move distance, then click Move .
    1. Right-click the arrow on the last selected point and select a direction in the context menu. Then drag the arrow to the required distance.
    2. Alternatively, enter the X, Y, and Z values of the move in the dialog box.
  6. To insert points in the tool path, select one point.
    One point is proposed (yellow cross) on each side of the selected point. They are the middle of the segment defined by the selected point and the next point on each side.
  7. Pick one of those points and click Insert .
    The point is inserted in the tool path.
  8. Click OK.
