Using the Material Deposition Wizard

You can use the Material Deposition wizard to create a material deposition operation.


Before you begin: Open the Material Deposition wizard with the button in the 3DExperience Top Bar.
  1. From the Product section, choose one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Import Product Import Product or NC assembly.
    Synchronize Data with Planning Import planning data to a Manufacturing cell.

    Note: You need to complete this section if you want to use the Part Operation and other following sections.

  2. From the Resource Configuration section, choose one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Insert Capable Resources Insert resources such as machines and accessories defined in the planning.
    Mount and Import Resources Mount and import resources such as manufacturing products, accessories, adaptors and tools.
    Generic Machine Create a virtual NC machine and lets you define its parameters.

    Note: You need to complete this section if you want to use the Part Operation and other following sections.

  3. From the Part operation section, click Edit Part Operation to edit the object linking all the actions to the machine part.
  4. From theTools section, choose one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Import Cutting Tools from Database Import existing tool and tool assemblies from the database.
    Resource Creation Create a resource such as a tool, tool holder or tool assemblies.
  5. From theAdditive Programming section, choose one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Slicing Operation Generate a slicing tool path on the selected part, following the defined strategy.
    Following Curve Operation Generate following curve tool path on the selected part.
    Create Structured Activity Create a structured activity, select aggregated activities and order them.

    Note: You need to complete this section if you want to use the Simulation and Generate NC Code sections.

  6. From the Simulation section, choose one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Collision Checking Activate the probes to check the dynamic clash, the clash stock or the clash machine.
    Compute and Check Tool Path Compute and check tool path.
  7. From the Generate NC Code section, click Generate NC Code Interactively to generate NC code files from a manufacturing program in an NC files container.

    Note: Sections are displayed according to their status:
    • Completed: the icon is displayed and the section is not grayed.
    • Available but not completed: the section is not grayed but does not have the icon.
    • Not available: the section is grayed.
