3D Viewer

You can display an object's 3D representation and build-up information.

The 3D Viewer displays EBOM objects that have a scope link to an MBOM object:

  • When you add an object with a scope link in the Manufactured Items view, the object appears in the 3D Viewer.
  • When you delete a scope link on an object in the Manufactured Items view, the object disappears from the 3D Viewer.
  • When you filter objects in the Manufactured Items view, the 3D Viewer is not updated, since the content of the EBOM remains the same.
  • When you filter objects in the Products and Parts view, the 3D Viewer is updated accordingly, since the content of EBOM is modified.

For more information about action bar commands in the 3D Viewer, see Digital Manufacturing Apps Common Services: Common Services for Process Engineering Apps.

Cross-Highlighting

Scoped objects are highlighted across the dashboard. This enables you to view scope links at a glance and to keep track of them when reorganizing objects.

When you select a product or a manufactured item, objects in the same scope are highlighted in the Products and Parts and Manufactured Items views, and in the 3D Viewer.

Notes:
  • If you hide an object in the 3D Viewer, scoped objects remain cross-highlighted in the dashboard.
  • If you collapse a root object, scoped objects remain cross-highlighted in the dashboard.
