Duplicating Systems with Operations

You can duplicate existing operations and add them to your operation structure. You can choose to keep the link between duplicated operations and MBOM structures.

Before you begin:
  • An MBOM structure exists in the Consumed Items block.
  • A root system containing operations exists in the Routings block.
  • Resources exist in the Capable Resources block.
  • The root system and MBOM structure are linked.
  1. Select the root system node and from the Lifecycle section of the action bar, click Advanced Duplicate .
  2. Optional: In the Advanced Duplicate panel, keep the check box checked if you want to keep the link between the duplicated root system and the existing MBOM structure.
  3. Optional: Enter a prefix for your duplicated operation and click OK.

The root system and its operations are duplicated in the Auxiliary view.

  4. Select the duplicated operation, drag it onto your root system.

Important: If this action fails, click then Preferences , and unselect the Compliant with Scheduling and Execution option. This option lets you switch between sets of aggregation rules.

  5. In the Action panel, click Create Instance.
The operation is linked to the root system.

Note: To delete an instance link between two operations: select the child operation and from the Authoring section of the action bar, click Remove .
  6. Select a resource and drag it onto one operation of the duplicated root system.
  7. In the Create Link panel, click Primary Capable Resource .
The resource is linked to the operation.

A duplicated root system with links to resources and system is created.
