Using Reserve Names for New Objects

There is one transaction for requesting a name of new objects from the server to improve the performance for generating an MBOM.

Compute to reserve names before objects creation, object type, and the number of objects, with the specified type to create.

The type of the Manufactured Item that is to be created is defined by the Make-Buy App option and the Creation Rule. This is defined in the Generate MBOM panel.

  • Make-Buy is ON and the design product is considered as MAKE. Otherwise, if Make-Buy is OFF, then a Creation Rule computes and defines a Manufactured Item type.
  • If Make-Buyis ON and the design product is considered as BUY, then the Manufactured Item type is defined as Provided Part.

The type of resulting product to be created is defined as Physical Product by default. In the case of the AEC data model, the type can change because of the aggregation rule.

After computing the types of Manufactured Item and Resulting Product, there is only one server transaction to reserve names for all objects to be created.
