Positioning Resources

You can modify the position of the manufacturing assembly relative to the assigned resource by using the robot or Smart Move.

This task shows you how to:

Position with the Robot

You can position the resulting product of manufacturing assembly using the robot.

  1. In the Resource Aid section of the Auxiliary Viewer toolbar, click Resource List .

    This video is based on the user interface in an earlier release, but the concepts described are still valid.

    A list of resources appears in the Capable Resources List.

  2. Click a resource from the list.
    The selected content appears in the Auxiliary Viewer, and Modify Resource Position becomes activated.
  3. In the Resource Aid section of the Auxiliary Viewer toolbar, click Modify Resource Position .
    A new window opens up.
  4. Select the Robot .
    The Robot snaps to the resulting product of manufacturing assembly.
  5. Use the Robot to position the resulting product of manufacturing assembly.

    You can also use the context menu of the Robot to directly input position values.

  6. Click Save and Close .
    The window for Modifying Resource Position is closed.

Position with Smart Move

You can position the resulting product of manufacturing assembly using the Smart Move.

  1. In the Resource Aid section of the Auxiliary Viewer toolbar, click Modify Resource Position .
    A new window opens up.
  2. Select Smart Move .
  3. Select a point, edge, or plane of the selected manufacturing assembly.
  4. Select a point, edge, or plane of the resource.
    The manufacturing assembly snaps to the resource.
