The Immersive Browser and 3DDashboard

In 3D Simulation, the specification tree replaces by a conceptualized browser. This is relative to the active simulation object.

This manages through an immersive multi tab browser, of which the contents specify by the application, and the active simulation object. On entering the application, the active simulation object (ASO) specifies based on any preselected object. If no object preselects, the highest object in the tree is the ASO.

The Ergonomics at Work 3DDashboard

This describes the Ergonomics at Work dashboard section and the options available.

The dashboard:

The commands available are:

  • - Displays the manikin information.
  • - Hides the manikin information.
  • - Displays the male manikin information.
  • - Displays the female manikin information.
  • - Adds a manikin.

Behavior Tab

This describes the behavior section and the options available.

Selecting the New Human Task from the context menu of behavior enables you to create an empty Human Task. This represents by a thumbnail under the Behavior tab, that uses creating a stand-alone Human Activity.

This table describes the options available when launching an activity creation, GET, Reach, and GOTO.

OptionDescription
If the manikin Occurrence is selected
  • Specified Manikin is the ASO.
  • The behavior tab in the browser defines as active.
  • Two thumbnails New Task and New Activity are always shown under the behavior tab. Note: You cannot select any of the existing activity thumbnails.
  • Clicking the New Task icon, the human activity creates and sequences under a new human task. The thumbnails of activities create under a human task do not appear in the data browser.
  • Click the New Activity, the human activity creates under the behavior representation of the manikin and the thumbnail appears in the data browser. This is a stand-alone activity and not part of any task or sequence and you can reuse under any sequence.
If the Human Task is selected
  • Human activity sequences (as the last activity) under the selected human task. (the current ASO does not change.)
  • The new task and new activity thumbnails always display under the behavior tab.

The Human Tasks are displayed in their own behavior browser. Each task thumbnail displays an image of the manikin at the time of the Human Task creation as well as the name of the Human task. The images show the objects from a common, oblique camera angle to provide a consistent reference point.

Right-clicking the thumbnail brings up the contextual window:

  • Link Task to Task Specification Activity.

  • Save to Library.

  • Insert from Library.

  • Delete

  • Properties

Once the Human Task or the Human Activity creation completes, simulate using Play.

Sequencing Tab

This describes the sequencing section that is applicable to Ergonomics.

See Using the Editor.

  • Human Task

    • A specialized Task, which creates only under the behavior representation of a manikin resource. A human task can create even when the manikin is not the ASO.
    • Only human activities can sequence under the human task that performs a specific manikin occurrence.

  • Human Activities

    • Building block for a human task.
    • Fundamental, reusable unit of a work sequence that can define for a human resource. Supporting the following human activities:

      • GET and REACH
      • PUT and USETOOL
      • GOTO
      • GESTURES
      • OPERATE

    • The human activity can assign as a detailing task to an operation. In other words, the system operation can directly point to the human activity.
    • Human activities can be simulated without sequencing them in a Human Task or a Task.

With a manikin selected, the browser displays the Sequencing section.

Selecting the Product or Worker (in this case) activates the commands associated.

The services that are usable under the current ASO are displayed in the Usable section.

For requiring editing, double-click the Human Task and the Sequence Editor window appears.

This shows the Activities: REACH:Air_Filter_Assembly, OPERATEPART:Air_Filter_Assembly

A Group Box displays at the right side of the work area. This contains the commands compatible with the Human Tasks and Activities.

You can drag any Human Activity command inside a Human Task Sequence editor. The human activity gets created. The rest of the interactions to complete the activity definition are identical to clicking the human activity in the action bar.

  • If the manikin is the ASO, the human activity gets created under the behavior representation of the manikin occurrence (if there were no behavior representation, it creates automatically.)
  • If the Station was the ASO, this prompts you to select the manikin occurrence, which executes the activity. The human activity creates under the behavior representation of the specified manikin occurrence.

Simulate and Validate a Human Task

This explains sequencing and validating human activities and tasks.

The Manikin as the ASO, make the simulation states as the active browser.

Then:

  • Shows the station resource in the ASO editor as active.
  • Two simulation states display as thumb-nails in the simulation states tab page.
  • Specifies the world to the defined position and location in the scenario. A Tick mark icon appears in the upper-right corner of the thumbnail indicating that it is the active state.

Select a scenario, which has a simulation you want to verify.

Click Play, the simulation starts playing.
