Using the Basic Skill Editor

You can use the basic skill editor to define basic skills and store them in the database (within a Template Rep) and apply skills within activities in a session.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Have a scenario with the manikin.

Create a Skill in a Library

You can create a skill in a Library.

  1. Click Create Basic Skill .
  2. Click the manikin.
    The Optionsdialog box appears.

    Note: Creating skills inside a library, so you then have to specify the library you are going to use for creating skills.

    Note: If the first option is selected, New Library, a default name for the library is suggested. You have the option to change the name and provide a description.

    Note: If the second option is chosen, Last Used Library, the library search window is automatically displayed. Search for the library. Select the library and click OK in the library search. The selected template is loaded and the Next of the skill creation wizard is automatically clicked, and the Basic Skill Editor dialog box appears.

  3. Select New Library.
  4. Select Finish.

    The Basic Skill Editor dialog box appears. See About the Basic Skill Editor to insert postures, and the Manikin Commands and Skill browser commands appear.

  5. Click OK when completed.
    Stores the Basic Skill.

Edit a Basic Skill in a Library

You can edit a basic skill that exists in a library.

  1. Click Edit Basic Skill
  2. Click the manikin.
    The Library Search dialog box appears.
  3. With a * in the search window, select Search.

    Note: This brings up all the libraries created in the database.

  4. Select the required Library (for example, LibraryOne), under the Display name, and click OK.

    The selected library opens and the basic skills thumbnails display.

    Select the thumbnail of the Basic Skill to edit.

    The Basic Skill Editor opens and is ready for editing.
