Comparing Filters of the Same PPR Structure

You can use the Compare PPR Entities command to compare different filters of the same PPR structure.

The comparison can be done when you have a PPR structure with a given filter in one tab and the same structure with a different filter in another tab.

Before you begin: In the spreadsheet view, display a PPR structure. Predefined filters are available for this structure.
  1. Select the root product, then click Filter in the Navigation section of the action bar.
  2. In the Filter dialog box, double-click Predefined.
  3. In the Define Configuration Filter criteria dialog box, enter a search string, for example *Cockpit.
The dialog box is updated to show the corresponding filter criteria.
  4. Select one of the filters and click OK.
The filter is applied to the root product: a filter symbol appears next to the root product in the tree.
  5. Right-click the PPR Context and select Explore in Manufacturing Context Builder to open the same PPR structure in a new navigation tab.
  6. Repeat the procedure above to apply another filter to the structure.
  7. In the active tab page, select the object to be compared.
  8. From the PPR Navigation section of the action bar, click Compare PPR Entities .

A dialog box showing the possible versions appears: it can be ignored in this case.

  9. Switch to the other tab and select the root product in that tab.

The versions dialog box closes if no selection is made.

The Comparison Report panel appears showing the two structures and the comparison can be done using the check boxes and buttons in this panel.
