Principle of Use
From a single selection, the automatic completion capability searches implemented, implementing, or required objects, then completes the tree and 3D view with the retrieved objects.
Automatic completion is done from selected fake nodes: PPR, Manufactured Item, Product, Resource, or Process. When the PPR node is selected, all the structures are completed.
To get implemented objects, the corresponding fake node must be selected. For example:
- To complete from one or more operations, the Manufactured Item node and possibly the Product node must be selected.
- To get the material path for a system, one or more systems and the Process fake node must be selected.
If no fake node is selected, the default behavior is to perform the completion with the implemented objects only. Completions are done from resource toward the product as follows:
- Resource > System > Manufactured Item > Product
- Resource > System > Workplan system > Manufactured Item > Product
Notes:
The PPR Smart Completion command:
- Can be used to retrieve EBOM parts from manufactured items that have implement links that reference these parts
- Can be used on EBOM parts to retrieve the implementing manufactured items
- Does not handle time constraints between operations
- Is executed on the object itself. If a reference is selected (root product, manufactured item, system or resource), the completion is done only on reference-reference links, and not on any link that may be pointing on any instance of that reference. If you want to retrieve the links on existing instances of the root reference, you can use the Relations Navigator.
