This describes how to Import NC Files. Material removal, clash detection, travel limit warnings, controller state display are supported. However, the Machining Operation name that is displayed in NC Code panel or on pick point analysis is that of the Manufacturing Program, since no operations are available.
- Right-click the Manufacturing Program in the Activities Process Tree.
- Select Create NC Files Container.
This creates a new NC files container, NC_Files_Container_1 under the Resource.
- Right-click NC_Files_Container_1. Select NC Files Container, Import to NC Files Container.
- Select the foreign NC code file (.CATNCCode)from the File selection dialog box.

The extension for the NC file should be the same as defined in
.
- Double-click Manufacturing Program in the Activities Process Tree.
- Type the Name and Comment if required.
- Select the NC Code Based Simulation check box.
- Click NC File: ...
The Select File from Container dialog box appears.
- Select to highlight the options accordingly, and click OK.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
The NC code file is assigned.
- Right-click the Manufacturing Program in the Activities Process Tree.
- Select Simulate Machine using NC Code.
Note:
Make sure that the tools are defined properly and that a tool number is assigned to the individual tool (as per the NC file). Right-click the configured tool and select Edit Local parameters to edit the tools local parameters, or Assign to assign a tool number.
