Defining Work Offsets

You can define the work offsets for each Manufacturing Program. For milling machines, work offsets can be applied to the milling machine. For mill-turn machines, offsets can be applied to both the turret and spindle that are assigned to the Manufacturing Program.

  1. Double-click the Manufacturing Program in the Activities tree.
  2. Select the NC Code Based Simulation checkbox in the dialog box that appears.
    Define work offset becomes available.
  3. Click Define work offset .
The Define Work Offsets dialog box appears.
  4. Click New to define a work offset.
The Work Offset Editor dialog box appears.
  5. Specify Work Offset Name, DOF Values, and initialize value of axes from Machining Axis System .

For mill-turn machines, select the spindle from the Device List and specify the axis values for spindle and turret.

Note: The rotary DOF value for the spindle must be computed based on the current machining axis and reference machining axis.

  6. Click OK to create a work offset.

The defined work offset appears in Define Work Offsets dialog box.

  7. Click Modify to modify an existing work offset in Work Offset Editor dialog box.
  8. Click Delete to delete the selected work offset.
  9. Run NC Code Simulation.

The Simulation Info dialog box displays the defined work offset during simulation.
