About Generate Operations by Catalog - Data Setup (PRM)

This describes how to generate operations by a catalog using data setup.

Specify a catalog in PRM for Process Planning.

Action Rule Catalog

Following are the four action rules:

  1. Operation Action Rule: The logic to decide which operation to create for the input Item contains this rule.
  2. System Action Rule: The logic to decide under which System creates the operation for the input Item is under this.
  3. Attribute Action Rule: Modify any attribute of the input Operation. This is based on the assigned Item or Design Product having the implement link with the Item, using this action rule.
  4. Resource Action Rule: The logic to determine the resources based on the Description value of the input Operation.

The products aggregating the action rules adds to the Action Rule Catalog. The Action Rule Chapter under the root Catalog Chapter has Type [String] Keyword. The value under this keyword uses to identify the correct Action rule. Each Product is assigned a dedicated Name (String) under the Type keyword.

  • Operation Action Rule: Keyword value = GenOper_Operation
  • System Action Rule: Keyword value = GenOper_System
  • Attribute Action Rule: Keyword value = GenOper_Attribute
  • Resource Action Rule: Keyword value = ResAssignment_Resource

For more information about the Action Rule Catalog, refer to the Administration/Operation Catalog.
