Operation Catalog

You can use this catalog that contains PPR data. The PPR data has a list of Operation objects aggregated under single root System object and a list of Resource objects aggregated under single root Resource Object. The PPR data in the catalog is used in Generate Systems by Catalog command.

This task shows you how to:

Defining PPR Data with Operations and Resources

You can define PPR data with operations and resources.

  1. From the Authoring section, click the General System from the secondary toolbar.
  2. Create a hierarchy of System objects and save the PPR data.
  3. Select the root general System as the target object under which operation to create.
  4. Enter the name of the Operation object in the panel and other Arguments in the panel.
  5. Click OK to generate an Operation object.
    Creates a general operation is under the activated root General System. You can also insert other types of Operations from the other submenu commands.

    Alternatively, you can insert the Operation objects from the context menu commands available on the System object or Operation object in the specification tree:

    • Select System or Operation object in specification tree.
    • Right mouse click the System or Operation object.
    • From the displayed Context menu, click Insert.
    • From the displayed submenu, click the available commands to insert an Operation under the selected System or Operation.

    Create a list of Operation objects and save the PPR data.

  6. From Compass, click My Simulation Apps, followed by Equipment Allocation.
    You switch to Equipment Allocation.
  7. From the Authoring section, click Area .
  8. Select the root PPR node as the target object under which resource Area and create.
  9. Enter the details in the Area command panel and click OK.
    A resource of type Area is seen created under the root PPR node. Alternatively, you can insert a resource object from the context menu commands available on the root PPR node or any existing Resource object node:
    • Select root PPR node or existing Resource object node in specification tree.
    • Right mouse click the selected object.
    • From the displayed Context menu, click Insert Resource.
    • From the displayed submenu, click the available commands to insert a Resource object-selected PPR node or the existing Resource object.

    Create a list of Resource objects and save the PPR data.

Adding PPR to Catalog

You can add a Product with Check objects to the Action rules catalog. Before you begin, create the required Product with Filter Check objects.

  1. In the top bar, click Add > Content

    Note: Before you begin, create the required PPR data with System objects.

    The New Content dialog box appears.

    If the Action rule catalog is there, then search for the Action rule catalog and open it.

    • In the top bar, select Search.
    • From What to Search for, click More.. and enter Catalog.
    • Click Catalog and close the panel.
    • Enter the name of the Action rule catalog name as the search string., then a list of catalogs with matching names.
    • Select the Action rule catalog and right-click Explore to open the catalog.

  2. Expand the Catalog category and click Catalog .
    Creates the catalog. For more information about creating a catalog, see Design IP ClassificationUser's Guide: Authoring a Catalog: Creating a Catalog.
    Note: Skip this step if the existing catalog is open.
  3. Right-click the catalog and select Insert > New Chapter.
    The Catalog Chapter dialog box appears.
  4. In the Name box, enter the name of your chapter and click Finish.
    Creates a chapter and it is available in the catalog structure. A warning message appears if the name of the inserted chapter matches that of an existing chapter.
  5. Add Check Object product in the chapter, then right-click the selected chapter and select Insert > Insert Existing Object and select the PPR Data.
    Adds a description node referencing the selected PPR Data under the chapter.
