Instruction Set Dialog Box

The Instruction Set dialog box provides options for defining the sequence of actions that would repeatedly play out at different fastener locations. These actions involve: Motion, PP instruction, Visibility, and Dwell.

To access the dialog box, click Instruction Set from the Drilling Riveting section of the action bar.

Main Parameters
Parameter Description
Usage Specifies the usage scope type of the instruction set.

Any Allows you to edit the instruction set from a manufacturing fastener or drilling riveting operation dialog box. By default, this option is selected.
Local Allows you to edit the instruction set from a manufacturing fastener directly in the work area.
Global Allows you to edit the instruction set from a drilling riveting operation dialog box.

Insert Mode Defines how the local instruction set is applied with respect to the global one. The following options are available:
  • Replace
  • Inserted After
  • Inserted Before
Note: Only available when usage is Local.
Motion Group Associates a motion group to the instruction set.
Note: Only available in bi-robot use case.
Validation Parameters
Lets you select a manufacturing fastener and an operation.

Parameters Tab

Displays the list of parameters in a table. Each parameter is editable and can be removed from the Actions column.

The following commands are available:

Add a parameter.
Move down.
Move up.
Remove.

Type
Contains the following types:
  • Boolean

By default, The value is set to True

  • Integer

By default, The value is set to 0

  • Real

By default, The value is set to 0.000

  • String
  • Length

By default, The value is set to 0.000mm

  • Angle

By default, The value is set to 0.000deg

  • Time

By default, The value is set to 0.000s

  • Linear Feed Rate

By default, The value is set to 0.000mm_mn

  • Angular Feed Rate

By default, The value is set to 0.000turn_mn

Mapping
Lists the mapping parameters:
Edit Box
Displays the mapping parameter.
Insert only real values in this edit box. Other values (attributes and operations) are expected to be input using the respective user interface.
Operator
Lists the operators that can be inserted into the mapping parameters.
Condition
Lets you set the required condition.
You can edit the Parameter and choose from a list of all parameters that you have already created, expected to be input using the respective user interface. You can also edit the Operator, where you can choose from =, <, > <=, >=, or <>. The last condition you can edit is the Value, which allows you to enter a value.
Entity
Lists the features Drilling Riveting, Manufacturing Fasteners, Instruction set, or Device Joints.
Clicking the feature lists the attributes corresponding to this feature in the Attribute table.
Attributes
Lists the attributes of the selected feature. Double-clicking enters the attribute in the mapping parameter edit box.
Remove
Removes the last inserted item from the edit box.
Notes:
  • Input a mapping parameter that can be mathematically evaluated. If evaluation is not possible, the default value is used.
  • This option is available if the Public check box is cleared.

Actions Tab

Displays the list of actions. Each action is editable and can be removed from the Actions column.

The following commands are available:

Motion Opens the Motion dialog box to let you specify the machine or device motion.
PP Instruction Opens the PP Instruction dialog box to let you insert a PP Instruction.
Visibility Adds a hide/show action of a product or fastener during simulation. There is no APT output for this action.
Dwell Dwell Action: Opens the Dwell dialog box to let you specify a dwell time for the entire process.
TCP Change Simulates a move from a tool center port (TCP) to another.
Cartesian Move Allows you to edit the X,Y,X, Yaw, Pitch, and Roll values directly or name the length or angle parameter. You can also choose the reference axis mode. You can choose from the following:
  • Previous Position: The given values are seen as offsets. This is the default option.
  • Fastener Position: The given values are seen as offsets of the origin position of the instruction set.
  • World: The given values are seen as absolute.
Message Display Allows you to enter the text in the dialog box that appears when you click the action. The text you enter is displayed in the Messages Reporting dialog box during the simulation of the operation.
Move down.
Move up.
Remove.

Initial Action Tab

Displays the initial action.

Message Display Allows you to enter the text in the dialog box that appears when you click the action. The text you enter is displayed in the Messages Reporting dialog box during the simulation of the operation.

Right-click

Contextual Menu
Lock: Available when you right-click an instruction set in the Manufacturing View. Allows you to set a password for locking the instruction set.

Enabling this option masks the instruction set in the tree with a lock icon. Once the instruction set is locked, you cannot save any changes when you try to edit the instruction set.

You can unlock the instruction set by entering the password you set in the Instruction Set dialog box. You can also unlock the it by right-clicking the instruction set in the Manufacturing View, then clicking Unlock.

You can lock or unlock multiple instruction sets at once with multiselection.
