Applying an Offset on a Manufacturing Fastener

When editing an operation, you can apply an offset on a manufacturing fastener. The new offset is specific to the edited operation only.


Before you begin: Create a manufacturing pattern and an operation. The operation dialog box must be open to enable the selection of the manufacturing fastener.
  1. In the work area, select the manufacturing fastener and click Apply an offset at origin of selected position(s) in the context toolbar that appears.

  2. Define the offset distance by doing either of the following:
    • Drag the handle of the Robot where the offset is to be defined.
    • To set a precise offset distance, double-click the Robot and type a value in the coordinates boxes of the Parameters for Robot Manipulation dialog box.


  3. Double-click the background when done.


The offset defined is displayed in blue in and is taken into account during simulation.

Notes:
  • The offset replaces the value of the Origin offset in the Geometry tab of the operation dialog box.
  • To apply an offset on several manufacturing fasteners, press CTRL or SHIFT before selecting the manufacturing fasteners.
