Reporting Issues

Using the Issue Management panel, you can report, track, and assign anomalies that need to be fixed. This is useful when reviewing design data in the context of manufacturing.

This task shows you how to:

Create Issues

You can define an issue and assign its resolution. The issue is created using your current credentials (organization and collaborative space).

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Issue Management .
    The Issue Management panel appears, showing the current list of issues.
  2. To create an issue, do one of the following:
    • To start from a blank form, click New Issue > Create a blank issue.
    • To use a template, click New Issue > Create from a template, then select a template.
    • To copy an existing issue, right-click the issue and select Duplicate.
  3. In the Properties tab, fill out the details of the issue:

    Title Enter a descriptive title of the problem.
    Description Enter details about the problem, such as how to reproduce it.
    Proposed Fix Enter information on how to resolve the issue.
    Priority Click the level of priority for the issue.
    Due Date Enter a due date.
  4. In the Related Object(s) tab, define the objects related to the issue:
    1. In the Reported Against field, enter one or more objects affected by the issue. You can:

      • Drag an object from the tree.
      • Click and use 3DSearch to select an object.
      • Click and pinpoint an object in the 3D View panel.

    2. In the Contexts field, enter one or more objects that provide complementary information about the issue. You can:

      • Drag an object from the tree.
      • Click and use 3DSearch to select an object.

  5. In the Team tab, define the assignees:
    1. Select the Responsible Organization assigned to the issue.
    2. Type the name of the Co-Responsible person.
    3. Type the name of one or more assignees, or click Assign To Me.
  6. In the Attachments tab, add documents and pictures to the issue:

    Action Description

    Take a screenshot of the work area in the app.

    Upload one or more files from your computer.

    Use 3DSearch to attach an existing object to the template.

    Removes the selected attachments from the list.

    or

    Switch between the list and tile view of the attachments.

  7. In the Finalize tab, complete the issue:
    • If you want the issue to follow the workflow process, select Enable the approval to ensure validation and review of this issue.
    • If you want the issue to be saved as a template, select Save the form as a reusable template and enter a name and description for the template.
  8. Save the issue:
    • To create the issue in the New state, click Save as Draft. Use this option if this issue is not yet completed or ready to be worked on.
    • To create the issue in the Pending state, click Send. The assignees are notified of the issue and can start working on it.
    The issue is created and appears in the current list of issues.

Annotate an Issue

You can annotate a screenshot attached to an issue.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Issue Management .
    The Issue Management panel appears, showing the current list of issues.
  2. Select an issue, then click > Display at right or > Display at bottom to display the issue's properties.

    Note: Click again to hide the properties.

  3. From the properties, click Attachments .
  4. On the screenshot you want to annotate, click New Annotation .
    The annotation view appears. Use the toolbar to highlight, outline, or comment elements in the screenshot.
  5. Click Save to validate.
