Prismatic Capabilities

This app offers an easy-to-use and easy-to-learn graphic interface that makes it suitable for shop floor-oriented use. Moreover, its leading edge technologies together with a tight integration with design methodologies and the digital manufacturing environment, fully satisfy the requirements of office programming. This app is a unique solution that reconciles office and shop floor activities. This product is particularly adapted for tooling and simple machined parts, and is also an ideal complement to other manufacturing apps.

This app offers the following functions:

  • Creation of prismatic features to be shared and reused in prismatic operations.
  • Creation of a wide range of 2.5 axis operations with a high level of associativity with the design, and best in class tool path generator.
  • Creation of probing activities.

Axial Machining Capabilities

The 2.5 axis milling activities complement the prismatic, surface, and turning machining operations to machine 3D parts with holes. Combined with the use of the machining process template and Quality Rules Reuse capabilities, it offers unrivaled functions to generate automatically a sequence of drilling operations (for example, spot drilling, drilling, or boring for a set of holes with different diameters and drilling tools) while capitalizing the know-how of the company via dedicated checks, rules. and a tool query. These powerful capabilities boost the productivity for drilling parts with hundreds of holes.

The high associative levels of the manufacturing program ensure productive design change management thanks to the integration with CATIA modeling capabilities. Axial machining delivers best in class machining capabilities on the design features thanks to this tight integration, but it also offers the ability to recognize axial features on any imported part. In addition:

  • An integrated Post Processor engine allows the product to cover the whole manufacturing process from tool trajectory (APT source or Clfile) to NC data.
  • The CYCLE instruction of each axial operation is fully customizable via the PostProcessor table included in Machining so that users can generate the syntax best suited for their work.
