Using Your App

You can use Work Plan Publication to publish work instructions to 3DWorkbook or Execution.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open your session in Work Plan Publication.

Generate Instruction Graphics

  1. Validate that the system you want to work with is displayed in the header of the operations filmstrip. Use the Change Current System action on the Review & Publish section of the action bar to switch to a different system when more than one system exists in the context of your session.
  2. Select the Work Plan Publication action on the Review & Publish section of the action bar to generate instruction graphics when the system and operation maturities are at the maturity designated in the application preferences.
  3. Select the mode for generating graphics: Generate 2D Graphics (work instruction views as 2D graphics) or Generate 2D and 3D Graphics (work instruction views as 2D graphics, product buildup in 3D).
  4. Click Yes to generate instruction graphics.
Once the instruction graphics are generated, the following message appears: Instruction graphics generated. Please save changes. A published operation containing the generated graphics is created for each system operation.
  5. Load the work instructions in 3DWorkbook to view them.

Note: Generating instruction graphics is allowed multiple times. You can generate instruction graphics as many times as is required to get all of the required data.

  6. As the work instructions are updated, repeat the steps above.

Export to Execution

  1. Change the operation and system maturity to RELEASED, the required maturity level.
  2. In Work Plan Publication, click the Work Plan Publication command in the action bar .
The Work Plan Publication - Publish to Execution dialog box is displayed.
  3. Click Yes.

Once the plan is published to Execution, an export package of required files is provided in the Drop Directory specified in the Work Plan Publication tab in Me > Preferences > Manufacturing Planning.

If the operation maturity is not at the required maturity, the following message appears: Publish Disabled - Cannot Publish To Execution - Invalid operation maturities exist.

Once the work instructions are published, clicking the Work Plan Publication command displays details such as the time the instruction graphics were generated, the time the system was published to execution and the maturity.

  4. Load the published work instructions in 3DWorkbook to view them.
If Apriso Execution is used, the Apriso data package is sent which contains the PPR XML, 3DXML and documents.

Notes:
  • You must save your changes before clicking the Work Plan Publication command . If you did not save your changes, the generation of instruction graphics will include unsaved changes and it will be out of sync.
  • You cannot publish work instructions when the session is filtered.
  • You cannot publish to Execution when the system version has already been published to Execution.
  • You can only publish work instructions when the system maturity is at the maturity designated in the preferences.
  • No changes are allowed to the process plan once it is published, because the maturity is changed to Released.
  • If the user does not have a DELMIA Execution system license the publish-to-execution processes will fail.
  • Common causes of publication to execution failures:
    • User does not have access to the Work Plan Publication drop directory listed in preferences.
    • Site ID is not configured to match the File Based Design Import/Context settings for Work Plan Publication or the context is not properly configured for xPDM.
  • Common causes for user is not licensed error:
    • Execution server name in Work Plan Publication preferences is not valid or contains a trailing space.
    • Execution server security does not match http or https setting.
